General Comments
I was browsing my local gun shop looking for a mainspring for my rifle, but as usual, starting looking at everything else. The shopkeeper handed me a black 92 FS and I bought it then and there, the feel of it is only marginally different to the real thing! The Umarex one (gassed and loaded) has a good weight to it, and the power is probably above the specification.
On an air gun range near me, I started at the standard credit card pistol targets at chest height, placed approx 8-10 metres away, and then progressed to HFT style targets between 10-35 feet, scoring consistently. Although it lacked the power to knockdown an average knockdown/reset metal target at 30+ feet, it still made a nice sound as it made contact, upsetting a lot of the guys with their expensive pre-charged rifles and £200+ scopes!
All in all, this might seem an expensive pistol to a new buyer, but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. The build quality is on the whole, very good. Just what you'd expect from a German factory building replica Italian handguns!
CO2 usage is about reasonable, depending if you use Single action or double action. Pellet choice can also be a moderate factor depending on what/how far you are shooting at. A set of heavyweight flat point pellets are great for punching paper, but I have yet to try out and other shape, i.e. domed, point or hollow point. I probably won't bother with the hollow point, as I doubt this will have comparable stopping power to my .22 rifle....
I have seen the accessory list, and came across the compensator, it looks pretty nice, but want to now if anyone else has fitted one, and how it affects the accuracy and capabilities of the pistol. Any suggestions?

Hey Daftsquaddie, I also looked into getting a compensator for my Beretta, a local gun store near me told me it would cost £30 and it doesn't actually affect the accuracy in anyway unlike the compensator on the Walther CP88 which adds length to the barrel. To be honest I think its probably better to put that money into getting a red dot sight if you want to improve the pistols accuracy.

That seems a shame, looks pretty sweet! Not entirely sure I'd go for the red dot, I have been hitting (spent) shotgun cartridges on the brass from over 20 yards now on my local range, and thats over the stock sights! (well, 5/8 shots hit it, no wind! ;) )

what's a compensator?

A compensator is a device that vents gas to reduce the amount of recoil on a real firearm, on CO2 guns they're only there to look good or to hide extended barrels like on the CP88 and C225.

what do you think a compensator does on a co2 firearm??? it also vents the gas as well......as it does on live rounds.....but you wont notice as the recoil on a co2 pistol is pretty none existant
