General Comments
This small card reader usually costs only £14 and takes pretty much every card available. Software is not needed. You simply plug it into a USB port on the computer and insert a memory card. The cards will appear in 'my computer' as external drives. The reader is capable of high speed USB transfer and works on both PC and Mac. It works instantly and you don't require any more than that.

Kingston 2GB MicroSD card with MicroSD Card Reader review - Pocket
Well because most memory card readers won't take them unless they are tucked into standard SD card and then if you do opt for this option you've still got to carry around a SD Card reader.
