A responsive sporty performance from the 130bhp 1.9 DCI delivers in spadefuls. Interior comfort is complimented by bags of storage space and an ample boot. Driving position is adjustable in almost every way so even in this low car you still have commanding views of the road and the driver ergonomics are just right. Fuel economy just keeps getting better and achieving 50 mpg+ on motorway drives is to be expected. Peak performance though is promised after the 3500 mile mark when the engine starts to loosen up and more power and better economy are available. Well thought out, great build quality and does what it says in the brochure....impressed? - you bet!
The large doors need to be closed with some conviction.
For a couple or small family who do not want to compromise on space or performance you can have your cake and eat away with the Renault Megane 1.9 dCi Privilege. Enjoyable driving, great performance and more than sufficient interior space make this a winner at the purchase cost. Running costs are miserly as well and the car is not demanding on the pocket. The real dazzler though is the feisty 130bhp engine coupled with an excellent 6 speed gearbox that lets you forget this is a diesel. At over 90 mph it purrs along at 2500 revs and is a pleasure to drive. In traffic it retains the nippiness one expects from a three door hatch and still delivers excellent fuel economy. So impressed was I with car I cashed in the 4x4 guzzler and bought a second one...need I say more?
