I have been absolutely appalled at the way they, and also my daughters financial adviser have handled her mortgage application. 10 weeks they have waited, and still no signs of a mortgage offer. The adviser blames the Halifax, the Halifax blames the Advisor - they are going round in circles. Every time they phone the Halifax they are told different excuses. For the past two weeks they have phoned nearly every day, to be told their application is with the Assessors or the Underwriters, and to phone later for a decision. That decision is still waited on, and today they have been told it's in a queue, and to phone later. Still nothing, and now they have got to try again tomorrow afternoon. They are first time buyers and have said they never want to buy a house again, because this has caused them so much stress. What a shame I say.... Their first step on the mortgage ladder and the whole thing has been so upsetting... But no one seems to care... Certainly not the Halifax that's for sure.

    This is exactly what is happening to me and my partner at the moment. We given them everything they have asked for and the same excuses keep coming back ie. Waiting for underwriters, in a queue, waiting to be scanned etc etc etc. Its bordering on a joke now. Its been three weeks since our application and still no answer. If this carries on we may lose the house we are trying to buy. But I don't know what else I can do??
