Good Points

Seemed pretty easy to install and set up. Good value for money. Helpline useful in the past, and this helped my decision to stay with Linkys modem router again, despite some issues with my old one.


Bad Points

None as yet. Haven't tested wireless connectivity yet, but the wireless set up seems quite straightforward from the info they supply.


General Comments

I installed the new style (silver body) WAG54GS (UK) model over a week ago - took under 30 mins to have my existing home network up and running again - seemed pretty easy to set up (and I'm not a techie person) using the CD wizard etc. You need to ensure you have your password from your internet access provider as well. Haven't tried wireless connectivity yet, only ethernet connections. No problems at all - good performance across all four home PCs.
Previously, have had poor ethernet connectivity across my four ports for some time using the old (blue/black body) WAG54G, which I had for over two years, but with this new one everything is perfect again. Definitely seems to be an issue with the old ones getting too hot I reckon - in the end I found that more ports were operating once I'd switched unit off overnight, though I hadn't had all four ports operating together for months. Recently called Linksys, and they arranged a new replacement unit straight away (there is an admin process to go through though, and you have to send them your duff unit first). Knowing this, I bought a new unit (the new style WAG54G) anyway (I can resell the one Linksys send me) as I can't do without the home network (sad but true) - well it's needed for work
etc as well.
Would also like to say that I've contacted the Linkys helpline on a number of occasions, generally pretty easily, and usually they've been able to sort out my networking or unit issues. This played a big part in me continuing with them - major plus point I feel. As call centre experiences go, their one compares favourably.
