Good Points

More authentic than a hotel. In the heart of the old town and easy to find. Given maps by staff, comfy beds and good food. Authentic feeling and personal service.


Bad Points

Could have done with a heated pool and TVs in the room.


General Comments

I stayed in Riad Tizwa in Marrakech in Feb 2007 with my family and we had a great time.

We had firstly thought that we should stay in a hotel in the new bit of Marrakech as we felt that the culture shock of North Africa would be too much but a friend recommended this place, which is more like a private home. Basically, the old town of Marrakech is full of hustle and bustle and can be a bit overwhelming. Thank goodness for this tranquil zone. The house is really chilled out and the staff are laid back. The rooms were beautiful, the dressing gowns lovely and the food was the best Moroccan we ate. Good touches in the house, with roses and petals, only one problem was that it did not have a heated pool.

We feel as if we have now seen a better side of Morocco, rather that doing the hotel thing.
