I've owned BB and pellet guns all my life. The 840 is a really reliable for me. I had no problem taking out small squirrels or black birds. Though you have to stalk them a little more i was happy with its power.
Bad Points
The scope on the 840 sucked. It was a waste of time putting it on to me. I immediately removed scope after trying it out. The main sights on the gun itself are pretty good.
General Comments
Overall i was very pleased with the gun. It is a great buy for a low 35-45 bucks at your local target super store.
