The savings rate was very good.
Customer service. They have no complaints department. They didn't even bother to understand my situation, and they failed to rectify their own mistakes.
It is far easier to speak to someone in person than deal with their Customer Service staff. I went to the FSA who gave me a contact number for the complaints department, and I ended up back with the same unhelpful person as before.
The complaint came about because ING Direct Internet Banking refunded my money paid into an ISA, which completely wiped out my previous year's tax allowance. They didn't warn me about sending the money back, they just did it. The reason the money was refunded was because the certified copy of my passport "was not signed by an acceptable person". Upon speaking to them, they realised the person was in fact on their approved list and apologised. They then said "you'll have to write in and we'll look at it for you". Meanwhile, I lose my tax allowance!
