Good Points

When it works it prints a good quality piece of work


Bad Points

The feeder will grab all the sheets at once which I understand to be a common problem. That problem alone is enough to make you want to throw the thing through a window. If you only print one sheet at a time, not bad. It also has its quirks on when it wants to work.


General Comments

Overall I would not recommend it, not even if it someone paid you fifty bucks to take it!!

    Mine does eat all the sheets as well. Has anybody tried the repair-kit from http://fixyourownprinter.com ???

    It is true. Same problem began within a year of purchase and has progressed to the point of happening on every third page, or so. Another problem, paper feed alignment, began on the day of purchase.

    This printer is now 4 years old, in light duty home use, and is only beginning to use its second ink cartridge. Paper feed problems should not occur so soon in the life of a printer. My LaserJet III at work was wonderful working heavy duty for 6 years with
    no problems. Why is the LaserJet 5L paper feed so bad?

    Now I stand over LaserJet 5L printer and feed each page separately. It is a slow printer so one can do this. It has two good features - very clean print, and a small footprint on the desk.
