Good Points

Good old fashioned mechanical timer,
Cooler looking than a Mercedes SLK,
Easy to clean,
Robust durable construction,


Bad Points

Expensive,
Doesn't have the reliability reputation you'd expect,


General Comments

Why did we get one?? Well we had a wad of Amazon vouchers and decided to get something nice that you couldn't justify spending your hard earned hard cash on.

What is it like to use?? Once you've mastered the timer, very simple with assuringly clunky, robust controls. It is very solid with extra wide slots, yet still (like every other toaster) can't comfortably accommodate tea cakes/hot cross buns without needing a little encouragement to come out. Nice keep warm feature too. Switchable 2 or 4 slot option but the toaster does tend to cook one side of the bread more than the other. The 3-minute timer isn't long enough for cooking crumpets, so an extra minute would be better. Do I sound too fussy? Well at £140 for a toaster, it has to be perfect.

Main reason for getting one?? The product is a design statement and will be the coolest product in your kitchen. Don't expect it to make better toast than a £15 toaster though.
