Great value
Comfortable
Low depreciation if not purchased new
Fantastic economy
Not too keen on the shape
I sold my 2004 BMW 530D series touring for a series 2, 1.6HDi C5 Estate. Yup , that's right! And so far it's been great. Less rattles and fewer weird faults etc. It's not the focused sports estate that the BMW was, and it's not as fast, but you would NEVER guess it's a 1.6 diesel. I do around 35,000 miles per year, so economy and comfort are important. I get at least 47 plus mpg, even when pushing on. And get this...it's quieter around town than the 530D, although just a bit noisier at 90. Ride and road holding are great by FWD standards, although it takes a few days to get used to the way it feels, and to get the confidence to throw it about.
This is a really practical car, and great value - recommended !
