Good Points

Brilliant reliability and if well looked after and serviced correct then good MPG.

Bad Points

Pedals are uncomfortable in traffic, head gaskets, clutch and gearbox, dodgy wiring.

General Comments

Haven't as of yet had anything wrong with my GTi but I had a VTS for a year and that was good and reliable but somethings did go wrong. My GTi pulls a lot faster in most gears because its done 60000 miles rather than 104000 of the Saxo plus I had 16's on the Saxo which did slow down the acceleration. And as for those who think the VTS is that second quicker your wrong. I don't no why they are an insurance group lower than the VTS or as to why they say 0-60 in 8.5 i get it in 7 secs all the time every time. There the same engine and everything is nearly the same including weight. Great handling and speed. I've wiped the floor with BMW most of em, Saab convertibles and most daily road cars. Even lost a scooby round the country bends one night. Definately get one! Petrol is good on my GTi 40 miles to £5 as the Saxo was £5 and 23 miles. Keep them serviced and clean and don't rag them constantly and they are reliable as any car. I've been driving 2 and a half years and mines £850 comp. Brilliant get one now there the best car for the money and they are so nice to drive.
