The Peugeot 106 GTi is a fun and funky little car witch a good smooth power delivery, with a few mod they can be extremely quick as I found out. The handling of the car is very good for a standard setup and is very nippy in the corners.
Being a Peugeot tech I have seen a few bad reliability problems and one major design fault, when replacing the cam-belt there is so little room. There is a little bit of plastic pipe on the radiator that has no use and is blanked off which the engine catches on when it is off the engine mounting in the process a cam-belt change and this snaps it causing the radiator to leak and can only be fixed by replacing the radiator. Very expensive!
The Peugeot 106 GTi is a brilliant little car for fun but when buying check the history to see if the cam-belt has been done, and if not try to bring the seller down on the price to allow for replacing the radiator at the same time.
