General Comments

Overall the Nokia N95 is a pretty decent phone. Pretty, easy to use, desirable. But I'm pretty fussy when it comes to my phones. I had a Sony W810i before this and its safe to say that that is the best phone I have owned, it was perfect and i thought it would be impossible to beat. That may still be true. Although the N95 is unique and technologically advanced there are still down sides of which the W810i had none. Two partly aesthetic qualities that bug me the most are 1. the slider is ridiculously annoying, it slides up and down fine but when open it wobbles when ever you press a button. and 2. the ridges on either side of the phone prevent fast or even comfortable texting. a huge problem for when you text as much as I do. Another quality that marks the N95 down is that although it may be packed full of cool features like web and walk, visual radio and sat nav (as well as many others) these all have to be subscribed to and paid for. A cost which I am unwilling to allow myself considering the original cost of the phone itself.
I do admit though that it is an amazing phone with great screen and camera quality and (bank balance permitting) contains a wealth of features to keep the most tech happy of users satisfied.

Everything in life is subjective, but I feel this review is a little harsh.

Whilst the W800i series is world class, the Nokia N95 has such a rich range of features, and the most mature version of Symbian 60, which make it stand head and shoulders above most other phones. And yes, I prefer texting on the N95 to the Sony Ericsson - it sounds like this reviewers unit may be faulty, because the slide shouldn't wobble.

As for everything costing? That's a little misleading. Street maps are free to download if you connect to the net via WiFi, though city guides (i.e. restaurants, hotels, etc) are a premium extra, and Visual Radio is free if you use it just as a radio! Also, and some other manufacturers have gone down this route, the headphone socket is an ordinary 3.5mm jack (with the facility to output video via a four pin jack), and the PC link is via a standard USB link. So no need to search for those proprietary cables any longer!

I have the Sony Ericsson W810i mobile phone just now, and I'm upgrading to the Nokia N95 soon. Orange are letting me know as soon as it's back in stock.

I agree that the W810i is a fantastic phone. I heard rumour that the flash on the N95 isn't that hot. How do the pics compare in lower level light settings compared to the W810i?

I'm so excited about getting this phone; I hope it's all it's cracked up to be.
