It is good to be on holiday with a group of mostly active retired British people.
Saga Holidays has deteriorated badly since it was sold and no longer run by the founding family. It is now mainly an insurance and financial services sales business, exploiting their vast holidaying customer database. Queries turn into complaints, as they are not dealt with in a timely fashion.
I have travelled regularly with them since retirement in 1988, and since the sale of the business some 2 year's ago, I have commented/complained about a general lowering of standards. I have cancelled my latest booking, as an advertised 8 night holiday is in fact only for 7 nights, and I have been waiting for over 2 weeks for an explanation, which, these days, is unfortunately to be expected.
