Rick.'s Review of IBM Microdrive 1GB Compact Flash Card
26th Jun 2003
Overall Rating
- Value for money

One of the fastest cards on the market -- beats most Flash Memory cards! HUGE & FAST storage means you can use maximum image sizes (especially good for those MegaPixel cameras!).
Bad Points
Handle with Care! This is what it says, a micro-diskdrive. It doesn't like harsh treatment, including transport vibration.
General Comments
Others, far brighter than me, have run comparative read and write tests (look on the Web). The Microdrive came out in the top few (beating most Flash Cards) in terms of BOTH its read and its wrire capabilities. It's an impressive device, but take care how you handle it. It is fairly robust, but it is a disk drive after all.
