I wrote a review of this gun 3 days after I bought it. Now that I have had it a month, and have fired 2,628 rounds through it, I figured it was time to give it a more thorough evaluation.
The gun came with a 1 year parts & labor guarantee, which if it lasts 1/3 this long, I figure it will be well worth the money given the entertainment value. Out of the box, this gun looks and feels good. It shoots low as others have said, and there is no sight adjustment. My friend just bought one yesterday an his also shoots low out of the box at 20 feet.
I have tried several bb loading methods, and so far the Marksman 1510 BB speed loader (about $3) works about the best. It's small, refillable, and after a little practice squeezing the bottle nose, it works fine. You could also try filling straws as mentioned in my previous review.
I have encountered some areas that could be improved, for example loading of the Co2 cartridges can be tricky, and the star nut inside the butt needs to be adjusted with just the right tension or the cartridge may not puncture properly. The inside star nut also may turn as you turn the outside knob that tightens & punctures the Co2, which may cause the Co2 cartridge not to puncture properly. I have also had the gun working at the beginning, and then experience cartridge leaking after a few shots and/or magazines. A bb will fall out of the barrel if you pull the trigger after the Co2 cartridge (powerlet) has become exhausted. A bb may also fall out if you pull the trigger too slowly while shooting, which can be irritating, since the bb may be only half way down the barrel when you do fire causing the shot to go wild, and perhaps creating a safety concern.
I have used 18 Co2 cartridges with an average of 146 shots per cartridge at about 60 degrees, basement room temperature. At the high end I have gotten 162 shots, or 9 magazines. I would recommend that you buy several extra magazines as this gun can go through an 18 round magazine in a few seconds, and the last thing you want to do when your having so much fun is to reload bbs every few seconds. The magazines are all metal, and of good quality with a spring hold back notch for easy loading of bbs.
The slide on mine doesn't always stop in the back position when your out of bbs, but the noise is different when fired, and you should begin to realize that your not hitting anything.
Accuracy at 20 feet although improving, results are at best a 2" group in a standing position. My friend who is a gun instructor also got about the same. This gun is really a lot of fun to shoot with a kick similar to a .22 caliber firearm pistol. I have noticed that if you put a drop of pellet gun oil on the Co2 powerlet, and on the slider as recommended in the manual, the action is much better.
On my wish list I would want the barrel to be 1-1 inches longer for accuracy and increased velocity. The rear sight should be adjustable, and bbs should not fall out of the barrel when you pull the trigger slowly. An improvement in the mechanism for loading of the Co2 powerlet/cartridge would be nice.
Overall this is a really fun gun for the money, especially if you are already aware of some of the annoyances.
