Good Points

Car OK and as we expected. All OK, prior to the nasty surprises we got.


Bad Points

Where to start? Car rented through car rental Internet site www.carrentalabroad.com, not direct with AutoEuropa directly. When we got to Pisa airport and dealt directly with AutoEuropa, the deposit amount asked for was grossly inflated, despite me asking for specific information before we left.
We made sure that all scratches etc on the car were noted by the hire company when we picked it up. They even took pictures, we thought that everything was OK. However, shock horror, the following January we got charged by them for a traffic fine that we didn't even know about. We only got copies of receipts, they took this money from our account. Then they took another £200 a few months later and decided to send us an Italian invoice, not even sure what they were asking us to pay for, some kind of servicing. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the car when we returned it. We paid for and put oil in ourselves because it was so low, this was not refunded. So the car obviously wasn't well maintained. We are still trying to find out why they have taken money from our account, they seem to think that they have permission to take money 6 months later without us knowing or informing us why! Perhaps they think they can get their customers to pay for their car maintenance because they think they are stupid. After all, customers give AutoEuropa their card details and once they've left the country, hey, who cares? I mean, who will do anything about it anyway? These English people are so stupid, yes, we are bitter and very angry. Our bank is trying to get the money refunded but I am angry that this greedy little company has marred our holiday memories and made us think twice about car hire abroad.
