After reading the reviews on this website, following a last minute booking, I was dubious about the Sand Club Apartments to say the least and worried! However we did not pay that much and so did not expect a lot. I have to say that we had a pleasant weeks stay. Yes the apartment was basic, no kettle but we took our own after reading reviews, we came across no cockroaches at all. I was quite looking forward to it, being an animal lover and all that! Perhaps the wrong time of year. The only down side was the pool bar was closed but you only have to walk down the road if you want anything, not a big deal. My 3 year old loved running around the pool area. So it was fine and fairly safe, apart from a big dog that barks at you from one of the balconies but he couldn't fly so we were OK, didn't bark for long anyhow. Golf de Sur is a lovely little resort and has everything you need, apart from a decent beach but we knew that. The plane noise is OK, we got quite excited each time one flew over our heads, I nearly started plane spotting but didn't want to get accused of being a spy. We spent much of our time in Los Cristianos as we know people there. The buses are fairly regular to Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas but try not to catch the one that goes the long way round and costs more money. If the driver asks for 4+ Euros then you know it's the long one. If you need to hire a car, go to the Spanish chap at the end of the shops, not the English guy at the beginning. He couldn't be bothered with us really, not sure what he's doing there. Anyhow the Spanish guy was great and we got a fab car for 45 Euros for a day, bargain. Overall, great stay and if you go out at night to the Square say hi to Sandy for us from the Nottingham girl. He's a compare out in Tenerife from the Midlands, lived out there for 25 years, funny guy, he can sing too. Overall a lovely break but would not recommend if you want a livelier holiday.
