Good Points

Location, location, location, it's fantastic. No noisy traffic, plenty of water, wild birds, wild rabbits and plenty of space. Really friendly campers and staff.

Bad Points

Some campers tend to be a little noisy but hey, what do you expect? Could use a few more toilet and shower facilities, had to cue a couple of times but no big deal.

General Comments

I originally went to Billing Aquadrome for a Classic Car Show and that was when we discovered it had a campsite and caravan site. On our way out of the show we made enquiries at the main house and found the prices, £15 per night, up to 6 people, a dog and a car, to be more than reasonable. Fires are allowed, as are BBQs. Anyhow, we went out that week, bought everything we needed and drove back up the M1 the following Friday night and stayed for two nights. The site had just about everything you could need. A funfair for kids and adults, a couple of on-site bars, an Indian restaurant and heaps and heaps of outdoor things to see i.e. the lakes, waterways, boats, wildlife. The neighbours were lovely, all the kids/adults played rounders together. All the dogs we encountered were friendly. Showers had plenty of hot water and were large enough to take your kids in with you, all had locking doors. Gone are the days of communal showers or washing at the sink, memories of Langorse Lake near the Brecon Beacons in the 70's. Billing Aquadrome also has a Travelodge/Travel Inn almost on-site, so those who really do not relish sleeping on an airbed can always check in to the hotel for a more civilized nights sleep. There are plenty of static caravans and trailer caravan hook up points too. Oh and plenty of on-site shops for those last minute bits that you might forget, such as toothbrush, sun-cream, foot-pump, mallet etc. Billing Aquadrome is well worth a visit and if you are camping there is no need to book in advance, just turn up, pay they man on the gate and pitch up where ever you want. No structured rows for tents so great if there are a few of you going and have a few tents to put up, at least you can all stay together. Have fun.
