Bad Points

Do not expect any kind of help from their staff, especially in Pakistan, they have no code share with any other airline and they will only accommodate you on their own flights, which may be unsuitable to your travel plans.


General Comments

Two days prior to departure, I went to the head office in Islamabad and had my ticket confirmed. At the time, a lot of flights were being cancelled because of the EU blacklisting. The next two days, every morning I called them and was told my flight is on schedule. However, the night before my departure I called them as their flight was not listed on flight enquiry and was told that my flight was suspended. I went to the office that night, I was told I cannot be put on another airline flight and need to come in the morning to speak to the manager. Then 6 hours prior to departure I get a call from Pakistan International Airlines, who finally decide to inform their passengers that my flight was cancelled. They had me booked on an alternate PIA flight, which was due to arrive two days later. I later found that it had an hour connection to get from JFK to Newark, NJ. The next day I went to the office again to waste 4 hours and get nothing. The totally useless manager said unofficially that I should try another airline because the best option they have can only get me half way to my destination.
Lesson learnt: Never fly PIA.
