Good Points

It has many features and has the power of a desktop


Bad Points

The fan is really loud and HP support is bad.


General Comments

The Hp Pavilion notebook is a real power house and is almost like a desktop, but its a lot lighter and smaller. The pentium 4 processor and 512Mb DDR SDRAM offers lots of speed and memory. HOWEVER, the display is really something that I haven't got used to yet. It is not very sharp and almost has a shadow effect, which I tried all settings to get rid of, but without success. The built in 802.11b wireless LAN makes it possible to access networks from just about anywhere without having a million cords.
When I tried the laptop out in the store, it worked like a charm. when i bought it and used it, the software that was on the laptop wasn't impressive but i wasn't bad, but the fan was. In the store the computer was silent, but in a room with no noise, all i could hear was the annoying fan.
Finally I would like to say that the Hp support is very poor. I tried to call them to ask them a simple question and it took me 2 hours to get it answered and it cost me because they don't have a 1-800 number. When i called they switched me from one person to another asking me questions before i could talk to a technician.

    Hello,
    He needs to get the new BIOS update that's on HP's site. It fixes the noisy fan issue. The update did the job.
