General Comments

I just got this pistol and decided to sight it in. It shoots low --even when rear sight is adjusted all the way up. Also shoots a bit to the right, but can compensate with rear sight. I think the problem is at least partly that the sights are not fixed to the barrel. Rear sight is located on the spring body and the front sight is located on the "compensator" which was loose before I tightened it. Power also does not seem to be anywhere near 700 fps as advertised. Suppose I'll be sending it back to Umarex for "adjustment." Wonder how that will turn out. Overall, I'm not impressed.

   Don't go by what the velocity, "seems to be". Chrony the gun. Mine is shooting in the mid 600's which is more powerful than any other .177 piston pistol out there. My Beeman P-1 is at least 20-35 fps slower pellet for pellet compared to the P-5. Lube the gun with some Moly, good oils and give it a good break in period.

   I don't have a "chrony", so I'm stuck with a guess. On the other hand, I did send the pistol back for an adjustment and must report that they did a good job. Shoots like a champ now. I'll also have to say that they "adjusted" it pretty quickly and even sent a couple of tins of pellets to help compensate for the cost of shipping. I still think it's kind of disgusting that RWS did not correct what they apparently knew was a problem before sending it to dealers to be sold, but they did do a good job correcting the problem after the sale.
