Close by to Copper Mountain ski resort, free bus to the slopes stops just outside the Lodge from Main Street in Frisco.


General Comments

This place was a serious find, we stayed there for a few nights with a group of around 20 people, we took over the place. It was a wonderful bed and breakfast with small but functional rooms some with en suite some without. There was a communal lounge room and kitchen area, which was perfect for enjoying the dark evenings in front of the fire with hot chocolate all round. Without this large space it would have been difficult for us to enjoy our accomodation as much, it allowed us all to be together to enjoy a wonderful few days in the Rocky Mountains. The Lodge had a sense of history to it, dating back as far as the 19th Century, wooden panelling and exposed beams gave it a really nice feel to it, a very homely place. They have a computer with internet connection, outside storage for your ski equipment and plenty of parking. There was not that much to do in Frisco itself although I didn't really look very hard, there were plenty of places to eat though and the lake was absolutely beautiful.


The skiing in Copper Mountain was very well priced compared to other nearby resorts in Breckenridge and Vail, everyone seemed to enjoy it thoroughly. There were slopes for beginners and indeed this was my first experience teaching people how to ski and it seemed to go pretty well as those who hadn't skied before generally took to it well. For the intermediate skier too there was enough challenges to keep them happy. The snow was indeed much better than I had experienced in Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks previous.

I would recommend the Frisco Lodge and Copper Mountain without reservation, if you want a well priced skiing holiday in Colorado you cannot beat Frisco for relatively cheap accomodation and with a buy one day ski pass and get another day free for Copper Mountain at that time we were well set up for a short break in the Rocky Mountains. Those mountains are beautiful and the snow is the best I have ever skied on either side of the Atlantic.
