Good Points

Economy (60+mpg is possible on long runs), strong torque and 6 speed 'box ensure effortless touring, supportive seats carry 4 adults in comfort making this generally a very practical small car. Excellent service from dealers.

Bad Points

Cabin tends to rattle a bit at low speeds, light upholstery marks easily (but is easily cleaned), infuriating 'extra' wipe following front wash/wipe. Some safety kit is lacking.

General Comments

I bought my Fabia vRS new in August '05 and have covered 25,000 trouble free miles since then. The excellent 1.9 PD TDi engine has never let me down and it is quite refined over long distances. You do get a fair bit of diesel clatter about town though, but this is forgivable as the engine is so strong once on the open road. Cabin storage space is quite good once you discover all of the storage shelves and compartments and with the rear seats folded it has impressive and easy to load luggage space. Sound quality from the CD/radio is acceptable and the air conditioned glove box is an ideal size for storing CD boxes. Servicing has been cheap and the garages have the best customer service that I have ever experienced.

My Fabia has now just had it's 50k service. The only extra that needed doing was the replacing of the wiper blades! She failed her 1st MoT at 45k due to worn suspension brushes, but they were replaced under warrenty. Other than that, reliability has been 100%.
