I'm amazed by the negative comments on here, although perhaps the school has changed in the few years since I have left. Perhaps some of the rules are a bit OTT, but they are all there for a reason and they never did me any harm. I was never interested in education while I was there and I was probably one of the worst students in the entire school and they still managed to get 10 GCSE's out of me and calm me down! For those of you who mentioned the uniform - at least they don't make you wear bright green blazers and kilts like Southend! The teachers were all wonderful with the exception of one lady who I just had a personality clash with (there is always one!). I can't speak for the new headmaster as I graduated just before they started, but the other teachers always treated us with respect and were always there to offer extra support if you needed it. The school did wonders for me and my confidence and I found the 'traditional' atmosphere really helpful. I went on to study A Levels at a local college and it wasn't until then that I realised just how good the teaching at Westcliff is compared to elsewhere! I'm now studying for a degree and hoping they will let me return to teach in a few years time.
Bad Points
Erm... I would say making us wear skirts, but I've been told Westcliff allows trousers now!
General Comments
I would definitely recommend Westcliff to other people and I have nothing but praise for the school.
