mikemed's review of Gilera DNA Scooter

★★★★☆

“Overall, the Gilera DNA is a good bike. It is nice...”

Good Points
Ahhh the scooter that thinks it's a bike... I have had a Gilera DNA for 2 years. The first thing you need to realise is you are going to come off this bike at some stage. It does 0 - 60 in a stupidly quick time for a 125. My front wheel once came up because it set off that quick! I have had 3 crashes in 2 years on it!!! The bike is fun and looks great, and unlike most 125's, it doesn't sound like you are sitting on your mums hair dryer.

Bad Points
Don't drop it! If you do, it probably won't work again. Trust me, you will come off it. The bike also doesn't like rain, and if you are tall, you run the risk of looking like a clown on a mini cycle. Also, when you ride it, you start to wish it had gears.

General Comments
Overall, the Gilera DNA is a good bike. It is nice looking, it sounds great and it is quick, if that's what you're into. Mine is still restricted and does 80 (ish). It seems to go forever, and £5 of petrol lasts for ages.

I insured the bike for about £15 per month, and that was with break down cover, whereas an Aprilia RS 125 will cost you a lot more.

The bike looks like it is bigger than a 125, and it does not look like a scooter. But honestly, you are going to come off it, but you will have fun doing it.
