Inexpensive combo of scope and rifle. Offered in available calibers. It is very accurate on the range and in the field.
Cheap scope. Somewhat heavy.
After buying this rifle as an entry level gun, I have found that it is more gun than I expected. After re-entering the hunting sport from a 25 year lay off (and getting rid of my former rifles) I went for the cheap but sought a good name in Remington. The purchase has turned out to be a good one. The 270 model 710 is perfect for deer and wild hog hunting. The factory bore sighting wasn't worth a hoot but after getting the rifle sighted at 100 yards it performed well until the next trip to the range and the process had to be repeated. Come to find out the scope rings were not tight. I replaced the scope with a Nikon Pro Staff , battened down the rings, used Tubbs finishing ammo and now I have a shooting machine. I've fired about 10-11 boxes of ammo trying to find the one the gun likes best and it turns out to be 150 grain sp Remington Core-Lokt. I get 1" groups and sometimes better at one hundred yards and nearly the same at 200. In any case, the eight point buck and the 246 lb boar I shot with it didn't realize they went down to something costing less than $500 including the new scope. Great buy!
