First class hardware, Toshiba help (software) easy to use. Easy to clean (dust), strong keys, a good machine for you to type when you're nervous with something. Good screen for a movie (if you wanted a bigger, you shouldn't buy this). Put RAM to 512 if you wanna play some heavier software (Photoshop or something, pictures, sound editing, etc, and don't worry anymore for some good amount of time). USB devices will physically get into without problems, I ain't got a gadget that hasn't worked in there yet (and believe me, I've GOT gadgets...). PCI cards will fit in too, follow factory directions and that'll do.
...battery could live longer, couldn't it????
Just be careful about learning how to get with the platform - something you should do about ANY computer you're thinking about purchasing.
I would truly recommend this machine, mainly if you're starting. I own this one for 1 year and a half, first owner, and there's not much you can do to destroy the machine if you're a dummy, believe me, my boyfriend tried it and he just couldn't (LOL)... As he learned the basics about WinXP, he can do very well without me now, indeed.
I honestly think about purchasing another notebook, but maybe I just go for an upgrade (hd and RAM) and go on with this one. I once was told that these Japs work well on 'puters - I agree, they REALLY do!
