Good Points

Had the vehicle we wanted.


Bad Points

The car we hired from Crown had a nasty dent and the key fob didn't work, which meant we had to leave the car without alarming it. We experienced a longish wait for car at airport.


General Comments

I noticed something a bit strange when picking up the car at Malaga airport. The lady asked us if we wanted extra insurance to cover tyres. We had a 4x4 so thought we would take it as we would be going off road. The car was fine but we did have problems with the key fob. We just couldn't get it to work and was not sure if we were using it properly as the markings had worn off it.

On returning the car, the guy checked over the car and I noticed he started checking the key fob, which I thought was strange as we gave him the car already open. He then mentioned that it wasn't working and wrote it down on his paper, we told him it was like that when we got it. When we went to their kiosk to finish the paperwork there was a hand written notice was on the window saying, damage to tyres and key fob must be paid for if extra insurance is not taken.

Not sure if it's a scam but mentioning the key fob is a bit strange. We were lucky we took out that extra insurance or I think we would have had to pay for the key fob. When they ask you to check over the car for any damage, you obviously don't check the key fob so make sure you do at Malaga Airport and go back straight away to tell them.
