Good Points

Cheap.


Bad Points

On attempting to claim on my Go Travel insurance, I was blocked at every point with a clear determination to not pay a penny at any cost. They got my name wrong, they were clearly incapable of reading their own Policy's words and I spent over a year convincing them that I had a valid claim and after having submitted several medical reports, which cost me and not them. They finally agreed to settle with a claim payment of £22 when the doctors certificate had cost £30. The final cruncher was that for each section you claim on, they deduct the excess per person, say £50, so for a claim on 2 sections with 2 persons on the Policy it is automatically reduced by £200. The claim incidentally was for a travelling companion who was diagnosed with cancer. The holiday was cancelled as a consequence as she needed immediate radiotherapy. Complaints to the FSA were a complete waste of time as they simply could not be bothered.


General Comments

An appalling company underwritten by AXA, who have an equally appalling track record in this area of Insurance.
The moral of the story is, I suspect, that you get what you pay for.
