Good Points

Excellent graphics compared to PS2 & Gamecube! No memory cards required. Online gaming capabilities built in. Fast game load times. HALO & HALO2!

Bad Points

Smaller selection of games in comparison to PS2. Must purchase online time.

General Comments

Having previously owned a PS1 and PS2 for some time it was only after I had played the Xbox for a year that I realized how lacklustre the PS2 was.
Having managed several major US video game retail stores for many years, I was in the habit of having people ask me if I repaired Sony PS2's.
When responding no, I automatically suggested that they purchase an Xbox because the defective Xbox return rate was a fraction of PS2's.
Upon recommending the more reliable system, I pointed out that for the same cost, you get more console. No need to buy online adapters or memory cards.
Since then, I have discarded the Sony and chosen the Xbox as my primary gaming console. In light of the new Xbox360, I may upgrade.
The Xbox is superior to it's Sony counterpart in two areas
Fewer required accessories, and (in my experience) better reliability.
I have owned the very same Xbox for almost 6 years and have logged several thousand hours of game play on it.
Given the option of the PS2 or the Xbox, go with the Xbox, you'll thank yourself later.

The Microsoft Xbox is pretty much obsolete now, but the Xbox provided some real great gaming! Good machine.
