Having each character represent a concrete symbol was great as it led readers to much more intensive reading in an attempt to discover what each individual stood for. The imagery describing the island is vivid and makes readers feel as if they were part of the story.
Bad Points
The ending of the novel was slightly disapointing. In my opinion, it lacked a powerful or meaningful conclusion, and left me looking for another page after the last.
General Comments
This piece by William Golding is intriguing and allows readers to think of fun and games, social behavior, and human nature in a completely different way. I would recommend this novel to anyone who would enjoy a terrific adventure and have already conquered their fear of beasts and nightmares.
