Good Points

Accept applications from people with a less than perfect credit history.
Very good customer services.
Can take payments weekly from your account if monthly is a struggle.
Beat the hell out of Welcome Finance!
They finance motorbikes too!


Bad Points

APR starts off high (38%), but it comes down over time.
Certain restrictions on the car you can buy. Has to be less than 9 years old, and no Japanese imports.
Will only lend up to £10,000.


General Comments

I got finance for my car back in 2002 from First Response Finance. The APR was high (38%), but the payments were affordable. Since then I have paid off the first loan and taken out a new one. The APR has dropped to 28%, and I could go and find the car I wanted. They do an HPI check on the car, and they even check the value so you don't get ripped off by shady dealers. Once you find the car you want, there are a few hoops to jump through (fax wage slips, proof of address, etc.), but the dealer gets confirmation that the cheque is on it's way to them within 20 minutes of starting. If you are after a hard to find car, they will even find it for you.

My loan will be paid off next year and I will be back with First Response once again.

    I found this review very helpful because...there are a lot of bad and aweful reviews on loan companies, but First Response appear fine from what I have read, A car Dealer actually recommended them. so, I will be contacting them shortly
