Handling (4x4).
Transfer box/diffuser poor.
Power (4x4 too heavy for a 2.0 16v)
I loved this car when I first got it, I'd owned an 8v SRi before and I knew I liked the way the Cavalier felt to drive. Sadly the 4x4 is slower than the older SRi due to the extra weight for the running gear.. gutted, that said it did handle like it was on rails. IT had a million toys with it, mine was a bit tricked up with rims and lowered suspension etc. I was good while it lasted but sadly that heavy old running gear gave up on me after a few months or ownership ( probably due to my lack of sympathy while driving it). The SRi was a better car, the GSi looked nicer but GM made a mistake with the 4x4.
