Good Points
Looks good.
Bikers can't believe you have just overtaken them!
Plenty of storage.
Bad Points
Electric stand can't always cope, especially when on the any kind of slope, a pity all roads are cambered!
Battery discharges very quickly, when using heated grips, electric stand and lights.
Oil filter exposed- rubber on stand can cause major problems by damaging this-check this often!
General Comments
Had the Piaggio X9 500 since Oct 05, used it every day - only two major problems in this time:
1) Battery failed - and with a top box installed is very hard to reach. After twice being caught out I installed a Datatool charger, which made life much easier.
2) Oil filter exposed. Fist time it was damaged I was lucky because I went straight to the garage, was told the bike took 17 litres of oil and they had to top up 1.65 litres! Second time on the motorway - not so lucky the engine ceased!!! £1700 worth of damage, luckily the insurance paid. However the important point is the electric stand and the rubber stopper!
The kids love it, perfect one person taxi, excellent on long trips, very comfortable easy to ride.
Brilliant bike, just keep an eye on the usage of the electric and especially watch the oil filter and the stand.

If you clip off the L-shaped lugs on the "bend", leaving 1-2 inches of straight, then the 2 screws behind the seat hold the back panel in place and you don't have to remove the top box to get to the battery area, hope this helps.
