Cheap with a good Spec
Bad Points
DSG !!!! I purchased an Advent Laptop from PC World some 18 months ago. Since then I have had to have it repaired 6 times including a new Mother Board, Processor, CD-ROM, USB (Twice), Screen etc etc. Unfortunately i went away for 3 months and when I came back i was having the same problems i;e the laptop was dead. PC World told me that you couldnt expect Advent Laptops to last very long!!!!!!!!!! £1400 for 1 years usage!!!!

Don't touch an Advent Laptop!!!!
Absolutely a bag of excrement !!!
It is now my life long ambition to slate off PC World after receiving the most disgusting Customer Service ever. I was told in no uncertain terms that the Consumer Goods Act did not apply to PC WORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!

However according to available information 7014 is manufactured by Gericom, you had not been able to see a 7014 equialent product under the name of Gericom for a long while. I am afraid (assumption only, I cannot prove it) that Gericom uses DSG Retail to sell their hardware in alpha/beta development state.
Alpha state is when the product is in a very early state of development, lots of errors, incorrect or missing functionalities are present. In beta state almost all functionalities are working correctly, but there are known issues.
It seems that you bought your 7014 too early. If you see products with similar attributes marketised under "big brands" then it is quite likely that the product is not in alpha state, but rather in a late beta a stable state.
