Good Points

Plenty of USB's, 5-in-1 card reader, wireless


Bad Points

Windows XP!!!
No so much a bad point, but, possibly useless at this time, the PCI is not the current standard.


General Comments

Well, I got my Advent 7111 for Christmas 2007. It probably wouldn't have been my first choice for a laptop, but, so far I'm very please with it.

Two draw back's to it 1) Windows XP media. Just 3 days after Christmas it was BSODing about 3 times a day and no restore were included. Apparently you have to call Tech Support and wait 28 days to get them!. So I got rid of XP and installed PC Linux OS. Installed first time and had a full working desktop in 30 min. As yet no crashing!!!
2)The PCI slot. It's not the current standard for PCI. One end is narrower and I have yet to find any cards to fit it, but in it's defense, with the wireless/wired network and everything you need integrated into the laptop, it makes the PCI slot a bit of a waste, well for me anyway....

For it's price it's a very good looking laptop, clean lines and with all the ports on the sides it's easy to plug your peripherals in and out.
