General Comments
I am not a regular shooter , but I found myself in need of a air gun for some occasional pest control. I could not afford or justify spending hundreds of pounds on a gun that would sit in the wardrobe most of it's life, so when I saw the ads for these guns I was attracted mainly by the price.
After reading some of the reviews on here I decided to give the B3 a chance.
Fortunately, the reviews had prepared me for what the gun would look like and they were right, looks like the stock has been painted with left over brown gloss and mine has a "This is not a toy" warning label stuck to it that absolutely refuses to come off!
The gun smoked like a 4 funnel liner at first, but half a tin of cheapo pellets cured most of that. I used the rest of these to zero the sights. On the subject of sights, the supplied open sights seem pretty good and I can usually manage 1 inch groups at about 20 yards.
The gun appears to be more than powerful enough for my needs, going clean through a glass bottle from about 25 feet although I have not tested it on live prey yet. Recoil is negligeable and the fitted recoil pad takes care of any there is.
All in all, I am very pleased with my £30 air rifle. It does everything you expect of an air rifle and does it pretty well. OK, it's never going to win any awards for style but while others are admiring their £300 German masterpiece, this will get the job done.
