The S&W 8' is a great co2 revolver, as it delivers all kinds of needs; the power is great, for example it penetrates a can of full unopened bean tin. the accuracy is great compared to other pistols like the Beretta 92f which i also have.
The Smith is well constructed and will last for years, when handled there are no ridged bits, meaning there is nothing lose. the trigger is a dream to pull and is not at all stiff, the hammer is also easy to cock ad to decock.
The Smith comes with a well constructed hard plastic case. the contents being a cleaning rod and 2 extra sights , for windage and elevation, also supplied is the manual.
The contents will be the same when purchasing the 4 and 6 inch.
The manual states that the fps of the 8' is 393. but one can be assured that it is greatly higher, round about 450 when the right temperature is present.
The only downside being that there is no safety catch, the reason being that the real revolvers tend not to have a safety catch. This also means that it is not wise to give to a young sibling to give to look at. Many shops say that it has drop down safety catch, this is however hard to find as there isn't one. Personally, i believe that when saying it has a drop down safety catch, it means that when you drop down the magazine it become safe as pellets cannot be shot as the magazine will not be in place, however gas will be released.
Finally, a lot of people say that the gun is a bit disappointing as
the Smith and Wesson (the 4 ,6, 8 inch) does not have a real barrel. The barrel is fixed and does not move, it is just for show. The whole idea of a co2 gun is for plinking and maybe pest control, not to have the 100% same detail as the real thing, otherwise it will be a replica or a blank firing gun. Also i think that Umarex have chosen not to have a real barrel as it may be perceived as the real thing which is dangerous in some hands. However, the Smith still looks real compared to the real smith.
I believe the smith is a good buy and i recommend it 100%. a good website to purchase the Smith and Wesson (4 ,6 ,8 inch) is www.C&H weston.co.uk , if it does not show the page Google it. However, the website only delivers to England. The website is also good for all other co2 and rifle related needs, including accessories.
