My China Eastern flight was great value, for a business ticket. They upgraded my seating to a flatbed on Shanghai to Australia routes. An enforced stopover in Shanghai on return means a nights sleep and daytime flight to London. Jet lag is much easier and quicker to get over.
Poor food, poor choice of drinks, chaotic cabin service. Old seating configuration between London and Shanghai on return. No snacks between meals.
Cabin staff need to be better organised. Within 10 minutes of takeoff they were bringing drinks round quickly, followed by a meal, not necessary to be quite so quick on a 12 hour flight! You can ask for a later meal so you can enjoy your drink first. This was met with a little surprise but it worked. Overall, great value for money and I would definitely fly with them again.
