Low price
Poor build quality, lots of faults, poor service at dealership
This is the first, and unfortunately the last Citroen I will own.
I bought the C3 Desire in August 2006, and it seemed perfect as I drove off the forecourt. Only weeks later the faults started to appear.
First of all a squeaking noise in the cabin started, and over the next few weeks got more frequent and louder. My local dealership in Aylesbury couldn't hear anything to my surprise, and in the end I tracked it down to the stereo fascia. I removed the stereo myself and demanded a replacement.
At the same time a rubbing sound began to come from the engine compartment. I still have this problem today as the engineers cannot hear it. Strange as my friends can hear it and even another C3 owner pointed it out to me!
On top of this I have had both rear light clusters replaced, the interior light replace, the clutch on the air conditioning unit replaced, and am still waiting for a faulty centre console display to be replaced by the dealership.
Over the last couple of days, the wash-wipe has started blowing fuses too. I have just returned from the dealership today who told me that this happened in sub-zero temperatures or if the water reservoir runs dry.
So be warned, if you buy a Citroen C3, also get shares in 10A fuses (and carry a bag of them around with you at all times!)
