Good Points

Cleanliness and service of staff were absolutely excellent. Beautiful boat with good rooms. Staff at all levels would go that extra mile to ensure travellers had the best experience possible. Our guide (Mohammad) was exceptional. Very good programme of excursions, albeit early morning starts, which were a bit tiring at times. Always felt looked after and the whole tour was organised well down to the last detail, which meant you were never left wondering about anything!
Steam room, sauna and small gym on board. Massage service available, very good and recommended.

Bad Points

When docked you were often alongside other cruise ships and although the rooms have lovely french doors for a good view, all you could see is the window of the next boat until the boat moved on again. Unavoidable but unfortunate.
Begging culture made us feel not only very hassled but saddened by the poverty. Having to walk past unable to help without being inundated. Animal neglect was particularly hard to swallow, particularly horses and donkeys. If you are very sensitive like me or like to be able to shop or go for walks by yourself on holiday this may not be the best type of holiday for you. None of this is a reflection of the tour or boat though and the guide gives good advice always.
Food was a not very varied but although repeated, there were a lot of choices each day and of a good standard, you would be hard pressed not to find anything you liked.
Not enough sun beds, people would reserve them with towels all day, even when not in use. After an early morning trek, sometimes you really needed a rest.
ExCel Airways offer a rotten flight and service.

General Comments

Allow extra money for tipping, which is unavoidable. Not that you would want to avoid tipping because the service is amazing.
I was unwell during the trip, although the standard of cleanliness was very high, and a doctor came onto the boat within 15 minutes of asking for one. The medical attention was good and not overly expensive. The doctor returned twice more for follow up visits, spoke excellent English and was professional and kind, better than in the UK!
Balloon flight excursion had 32 people in the basket, don't expect this to be a personal tour and although it was much enjoyed by all, views had to be seen in between heads!
When visiting Abu Simbel, make sure the company you are booking with has a large coach with a toilet, there are many small tour buses driving about, as the journey is 3 hours each way with no stops.
