Its a really good player with a great interface, and I have never had sound problems with it but I think thats because I threw out the supplied headphones that came with it. They stuck out of the jack too far, very easy to bend them in you pocket.
Bad Points
This was a really great player for a while. I liked it for school and I used to plug it into my radio in my car so I could listen to my music. But...... sadly I got off work one afternoon after having it in my pocket, when I took it out it was frozen on the Creative startup screen, and responded to nothing from the front panel to the on/off switch. I took the battery out and replaced, yet again frozen creative screen.... so i took it home and left the battery out all day hopeing to reset it.... nope. Doesn't even recognize on my computer anymore... so I emailed creative and they gave me the "run around" for the first couple of emails then finally told me I was out of warranty and not applicable for tech support......................................... so its laying on the floor still plugged into my computer. I guess im hopeing it will resurrect or something..... I'll have to buy a new one before I loose whats left of my sanity from music deprivation.
General Comments
I still like creative and will buy from them again. I'm just a little disappointed in there overall service, and quality.

well, if it is any consolation, the pretty much exact same thing is happening with an iPod nano I've got at the moment. I knew I was right about iPods and Apple's rubbishness.

That is EXACTLY what happened to my Zen! My first one just kept making funny noises and when I phoned support they asked me about eight times if id dropped it and then sent me a new one, but a year on when I turn mines on it sticks on the creative screen and makes a ticking noise, my PC wont recognises it and even if you take the battery out it still stays on if its plugged in!
I have tried everything on the reboot menu but it sticks their and makes the same noise grr
i think i'm just gonna get something else because the battery life can be terrible...
