General Comments

Panasonic M9500 was my first video camera.
It has 1/3" CCD sensor, Super VHS recorder with HI-FI sound, good built in zoom microphone and X12 lens.
This camera was inexpensive unit that was very popular in the world and was made in a lot of variations (M9000, M9500,M9500EN, AG-455,...).
This is a camera from a famous "M" Panasonic family (M-7, M-10,...).
Such cameras were used by reporters of poor television channels and wedding photographers.
Because this camera was cheap and could be expendable, some television studios sent operators to take shots in hot points with them.
In good light conditions this camera gives a good picture with great colors, however as light condition get worse it produces a lot of noise.
This camera is good for beginners and as expendable unit, it has Auto-Focus and a bit small view finder, of only 3/4".
Quality can be compared with todays consumer miniDV camcorders.
There are modifications with bigger zoom and some editing features, effects and faders.
My camera had only basic features like fader and manual control.
This camera served me well for learning video cameras, I sold it two years ago, but sometimes I still miss it.
