It's the most secure way to bathe your baby: unlike a plastic support, they don't slip even if they wriggle a lot. Also you can throw it away once your baby does not need it anymore whilst with another type of support you are yet again stuck with another piece of bulky baby equipment.
You need to remember to express all the water from the foam - which is hard to do right away since you have now a wet baby in your arms. Make sure it is hanging over a towel since you can never fully express the water. Also you need to soak the foam AFTER you have run the bath fully, if not you might end up with warm or call areas depending on where the support was when you run the water. Finally you need to buy another one for your next child as I suspect it is not a good idea to use it second hand.
I was struggling at bath time with my wriggly daughter and found this support very efficient and re-assuring. No more back-aches, at bath times at least!
