In London, Becky Brandon continues her shopping ways though her target has changed as she plans her nursery in spite of morning sickness. Even her health and that of the fetus has to be handled by the right doctor as the chosen one must be at least the obstetrician to the rich and famous. Thus she selects renowned Dr. Venetia Carter.
However, the world's greatest shopaholic quickly has second thoughts about her selection as Venetia happens to be the college girlfriend of her husband Luke. When Becky sees Venetia send email to Luke in Latin she becomes concerned. She soon believes they are secretly meeting and at his office and the whispers that follow her make her wonder if her doctor and her husband are sharing a tryst or is it just her hormones that are imbalanced so that even shopping is not fun.
The latest Shopaholic thriller is the best of the series as Sophie Kinsella satirizes the vogue baby industry. Becky is a delight as her hormonal asides run wild, impacting everyone and everything including her best talent -- shopping. Readers will enjoy the sharp-witted chick lit lampooning of the in-crowd's chic and luxurious birthing requirements.
