They do not check your credit rating properly, they never return calls, there are quite a number of shops that DO NOT take Amex (because they say they are TOO EXPENSIVE) . When you use you Amex card to pay PAYPAL they charge extra on top of the purchase unlike most other credit cards.
BA Amex card have just changed the rules on the companion ticket which means that you HAVE to use it in a YEAR or LOSE IT! Amex were allowing you too extend it past a year - but they won't now........ --------------
