Good Points
Comfortable and economical
5* Euro NCAP rating
All digital dash
Neat pull out in boot to stop shopping from sliding about.
Large boot.
Full deadlocks and Thatcham standard security.
Bad Points
Not 100% converted to RHD - key lock on passenger door only, handbrake offset to left.
Easy to be distracted by the tech toys and digital dash
Lots of small pockets and niches for oddments which fill up with muck and are hard to clean
To upgrade the radio and retain the steering wheel controls and other facilities (reversing sensors for example) requires very specific adaptors, but can be done.
Rear vision could be better.
General Comments
After a month and 1,000 miles I've very pleased with my Citro n C4. The diesel engine pulls well, and perhaps could do with another 25hp, bit with the cruise control on at 70 mph, the trip computer gives around 60mpg. At idle, the engine sounds like a taxi from outside, but inside you wouldn't know it's a diesel.
The 60 litre tank should give 600 miles, which can be followed on the trip computer - in mpg or l/100km, in almost any European language.
I'm tall (1.87m) and there's plenty of room in comfortable seats.
There's lots of info from the dash and automatic everything (mirror, door locks, lights, wipers, radio volume, speed limiter, etc) mostly control from the steering wheel buttons, but once its logic patterns are learned, it's easy to use and informative.
The centre of the steering wheel is fixed, to aid better airbag deployment and to house four sets of controls. Some people seem to react badly to the centre of the steering wheel not moving, but it's perfectly natural and the buttons are easy to find as their position is fixed.
Pull out the ashtray, and there's a big diagnostic socket to access/update the car's software.
The standard 6 speaker Blaupunkt RD4 FM radio/CD is just above average with full RDS Text but doesn't play MP3s.
Doors shut with a solid "clunk" and have deadlocks.
There's been nothing so far to go back to the dealers to have put right. Hopefully I won't need to see the dealer until the computer tells me it's time for a service in about 10,000 miles time.
It's a delight to drive and look at. Recommended!
