General Comments

Well my mum and dad bought me this for Christmas about 2 years ago, and ive had my fair share of use out of it!

The Olympus 410 MJU

For the Main points

4 megapixel camera, with 3x optical zoom and digital zoom, and has video camera capabilities of which I will go into greater detail in a bit.

Very nice silver casing, and is a very small and light profile, and has a slider shutter for the lens

Standard comes with a 64MB memory card, and can hold about 32 average quality pictures, but i was also given a 128MB XD card.

Features a USB cable, giving you the ability to access your photos and videos by the computer, but also features Pictbridge meaning that if you have a photo printer, you can plug in the USB connection to the printer, and print off your photos, via the USB lead without even having to use your computer!

Uses Li-ion battery, so it can be used for long periods of time.

Now for the stats

The picture size can be adjusted into 4 different sizes SQ2 Or VGA 640x480 SQ1 2048x1536 HQ 2272x1704 and SHQ 2272x1704.

The video size can also be adjusted but unfortunately not the length of video, on 320x240 you get about 20 seconds a clip and 160x120 will get you 90 seconds a clip.

Has a 2" screen, with a nice and bright display which can also be adjusted to your liking as well

You can change what type of scenery you are shooting, like portrait, landscape, indoor, outdoor or night time, there is a macro mode for short range shots and sepia.

The menu setup allows you to change so many things, like the startup screen and jingle, the languages into 8 different types, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Japanese.

Features an Anti-red light and a very good flash.

Has a great shutter as well, I don't know the speed though unfortunately.

Takes about 2 hours to charge from flat to full.

At the time, when this camera first came out it cost around about £299 but now you can get them for under £200.

The memory card at the time cost £39 but you can get for around about a tenner now.

The only problem i have with this camera is that it doesn't include a case, so its prone to scratching.

All in all ive got a lot out of this camera and I am more than pleased with its performance

Hope my review was of some use!

All the best

Tom

    Excellent Review Tom.
I think many cameras these days are sold without cases. Silly really, considering the cost! I bought a case for my HP Photosmart digital camera in Tesco. Very cheap, and good quality too!
